Council studies name Ton Pentre, Pentre, Gelli, Ystrad, Treorchy and Clydach Vale among communities in the wider area. Give us the actual pickup point, not just the name Rhondda, so the instructor can confirm whether they cover it. We can then check the transmission you prefer and the times you are available.
Practise for the valley setting
Council plans describe settlement along the valley floors, with the main road and railway infrastructure following the Rhondda Fawr river corridor. This is broad geographic context for discussing junctions between a main road and side streets, changes in gradient and safe speed control. Ask your instructor to choose a suitable place for hill starts or other practice that matches your experience. The plans date from 2009 and 2015 and are not current road or flood guidance. The DVSA does not publish test routes, so practise transferable skills rather than a set route.

Search fee and lesson payments
Pay the MyInstructorFinder search fee upfront: £9.99 for up to 10 requested hours or £19.99 for 11 or more, plus optional £25 Priority. We keep it only if you accept an offer. If no suitable offer is found by the agreed deadline or the final held offer expires unaccepted, we refund the full fee including Priority. Declining any offer closes the entire search and brings the same full refund.
Pay lesson fees directly to your instructor on the day of each lesson. No advance lesson payment or deposit is required through this service.
Sources, dates and local information
Council plans from 2009 and November 2015 are used for the settled valley geography and communities, not present road or flood conditions; checked 16 October 2026. Centre pass rates cover April 2025 to March 2026 and booking measures are from August 2026. Test-centre distances are approximate straight-line estimates from the Rhondda area, not road distances from your pickup.
