Terms of Service

1. Agreement and policies

These Terms of Service apply when you access or use MyInstructorFinder, including browsing instructor profiles, submitting a search request, receiving messages from us, using a tracking page, reviewing or accepting an instructor offer, claiming an instructor profile, paying a platform fee or otherwise interacting with the platform. A learner does not need to create an account to submit the standard search form.

By using the service, submitting a request or starting a payment that is expressly offered to you, you agree to these terms, the Refund Policy and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the site or submit a request.

2. What we do

My Instructor Finder is a matching, introduction and coordination service for people looking for driving lessons. Our standard learner intake and search are free. When you submit a genuine search request, our systems and coordination assistant Aria may:

• identify independent instructors who appear able to cover your area, transmission and requirements;
• contact suitable instructors on your behalf through our coordination team and systems, including automated messages;
• ask about availability, start dates, pricing and the questions you asked us to raise;
• check any revised or alternative terms with you before anything is agreed;
• present you with a written offer summarising the proposed instructor, start, price and key terms;
• if you accept the offer, exchange contact details between you and the instructor so you can arrange lessons directly.

If you submit a request from a specific instructor's profile, that request is limited to the instructor you selected. We will not approach another instructor through that request. If the selected instructor is unavailable or unresponsive, you may separately choose to start a wider area search.

Our service to you is complete when we present an offer that you accept and we release contact details. Everything after that point, including the lessons themselves, is between you and the instructor.

3. We are an introducer, not a driving school

My Instructor Finder acts solely as an introducer and coordinator. Every instructor on or contacted through the platform is an independent, self-employed professional or independent business. We do not:

• provide driving instruction, vehicles, insurance or driver training of any kind;
• employ, engage, manage, supervise, direct or control any instructor;
• act as agent for the instructor or for the learner in the lesson contract;
• set, collect, hold or handle lesson money, deposits or lesson refunds;
• guarantee any instructor's availability, punctuality, conduct, teaching quality, vehicle condition, insurance status or professional registration;
• guarantee lesson outcomes, learning progress, test bookings or test results;
• supervise, attend or monitor lessons in any way.

Nothing in these terms creates any partnership, joint venture, employment or agency relationship between My Instructor Finder and any instructor or learner.

4. Free learner searches and earlier paid services

The standard learner search currently offered through our public intake form is free. You are not asked to pay My Instructor Finder or create a learner account to submit that request. Any lesson price or package proposed during the search is the independent instructor's charge and is paid directly to the instructor under the arrangement you make with them.

We previously offered, and may separately offer, an optional paid matching or priority service only where its price and terms are clearly displayed before payment. If you already bought such a service, the refund rights and guarantee shown when you paid continue to apply and are not reduced by the move to free standard searches. 5. How matching works

Instructor counts, confidence indicators and profile cards shown during your search are good-faith, real-time estimates of instructor supply in your area. They are not a promise that a specific instructor is available on a specific date. Availability is only established when an instructor confirms terms during your search.

Searches run for a limited period during sociable contacting hours. The current status and any applicable time window are shown on your tracking page. If we cannot secure suitable proposed terms, the search may end without an introduction and you will be notified.

An accepted offer reflects what the instructor told us at the time. The final arrangement, including exact pickup point, lesson schedule and payment method, is confirmed directly between you and the instructor after the introduction.

6. Your lesson agreement is with the instructor, not with us

Once contact details are exchanged, any agreement for driving lessons is made directly and exclusively between the learner and the instructor. My Instructor Finder is not a party to that agreement, does not perform any part of it, and has no control over its performance. In particular, as between learner and instructor, the following are strictly their own responsibility and their own risk:

• lesson delivery, scheduling, rescheduling, cancellations and no-shows;
• lesson prices, package terms, discounts and all lesson payments, however made;
• any deposit or advance payment they choose to agree between themselves;
• teaching standards, conduct, communication and personal compatibility;
• vehicles, dual controls, insurance, licensing and legal compliance;
• anything that occurs during, before, after or in connection with a lesson, including any accident, incident, injury, loss or damage;
• any dispute of any kind between learner and instructor.

We may, entirely at our discretion, offer goodwill help if something goes wrong shortly after an introduction, for example by re-running a search. Any such help is voluntary and does not make us responsible for the instructor, the learner or the lesson arrangement.

7. Meeting your instructor safely

Because instructors are independent, you should take the same sensible steps you would take with any professional you find independently:

• at or before your first lesson, ask to see the instructor's ADI or PDI badge (approved driving instructors must display or carry one) and any identification you want to check;
• do not pay a deposit or any lesson money to anyone you have not spoken to and verified. We never arrange deposits on your behalf and we never collect lesson money; any deposit is a private arrangement you make at your own discretion after you have satisfied yourself about the instructor;
• if anything about an instructor concerns you, do not proceed, and tell us so we can review their listing.

8. Learner responsibilities

You agree that you will:

• provide a real name, working mobile number, email address, accurate pickup area and genuine lesson requirements;
• only submit a search when you genuinely intend to take lessons;
• respond promptly when we check offer details with you;
• review each offer carefully before accepting, and only accept if the terms work for you;
• hold a valid provisional licence and meet eyesight and any other legal requirements before lessons begin;
• treat instructors and our team respectfully;
• not submit fake, abusive, automated or duplicate requests, and not use the platform to harvest instructor contact details.

9. Instructor terms and the booking setup fee

Instructors remain independent providers and are solely responsible for their profile accuracy, professional status, vehicle, insurance, conduct, pricing and the delivery of any lessons they agree.

When a learner formally accepts terms an instructor agreed through the platform, we issue the instructor a booking setup fee invoice for the confirmed learner introduction. The rate is 9% for 5–10 tuition hours, 8% for 20 hours, and 7.5% for 25–30 hours. The exact pound amount is calculated from the final agreed tuition package and shown to and accepted by the instructor before the offer is sent to the learner. The invoice is held and nothing is due until the learner has both started lessons and paid the instructor. Once both have happened, payment is due within 7 calendar days. An early settlement discount or per-lesson instalments may be offered where applicable. No fee is payable if no booking is agreed or the booking never starts through no fault of the instructor. The detailed instructor invoice terms shown and accepted at the relevant time govern each invoice.

Instructors must honour the availability, price and terms they confirm, tell us promptly if they become unavailable, and contact the learner promptly after an introduction. We may hide, suspend or remove instructor listings for repeated non-response, inaccurate information, unpaid invoices, credible complaints, attempts to bypass the platform, or conduct that creates risk for learners or the platform.

10. Payments and payment providers

The standard learner search does not require payment. Where an instructor booking setup fee, an earlier learner search fee or another clearly described platform fee is payable to My Instructor Finder, it is processed by Stripe. We never see or store full card details. Payment providers apply their own terms, checks and processes.

We may refuse, cancel, refund or pause a payment where we suspect fraud, abuse, technical error, duplicate payment or any other risk to the platform, a learner or an instructor. If a chargeback or dispute is opened we may provide the payment provider with evidence including request details, accepted policy versions, messages, offer records and tracking-page activity.

For clarity: we only ever process our own fees. Lesson money never passes through My Instructor Finder.

11. Cancellations, changes and refunds

There is no fee to refund for the current standard learner search. Refunds of any earlier or separately purchased learner service, and of instructor platform fees, are governed by the Refund Policy and the terms shown when the payment was made. Lesson payments made to an instructor are outside this policy and outside our control.

12. Consumer rights and immediate service

Nothing in these terms removes or limits rights that cannot be excluded under UK consumer law.

If you buy an optional paid matching service, you may be asked to request that we begin work immediately within any statutory cancellation period. The checkout terms and policy presented for that purchase explain how cancellation and refund rights apply. This does not affect the free standard learner search or rights that cannot lawfully be limited.

13. Anti-circumvention and misuse

The platform invests real time and cost in finding, contacting and coordinating instructors. Learners and instructors must not misuse an introduction, misrepresent its source, deliberately bypass a platform fee that applies to them, evade the platform's coordination steps, or manipulate searches, offers or reviews. The current standard learner search remains free.

We may block access, pause or cancel requests, withhold introductions, hide profiles, preserve evidence and refuse future service where we reasonably suspect abuse, fee avoidance, fake requests, scraping or security misuse.

14. Profiles, reviews, public listings and content

Instructor profiles may be created from instructor-submitted information, claimed profile data, learner reviews, public directories, public websites, business listings, public registers or other lawful sources. Instructors can contact us to claim, correct, pause or request removal of a listing.

Reviews and submitted content must be lawful, truthful, relevant and based on genuine experience. We may moderate, edit, remove or refuse content that appears fake, abusive, discriminatory, defamatory, commercially manipulative, unlawful or misleading. By submitting content you confirm you have the right to submit it and grant us permission to use, display, edit for formatting, store and moderate it for platform purposes.

We aim to keep information accurate, but profiles, prices, locations and availability change. We do not guarantee that all site information is current, complete or error-free, and we may update, suspend or change any part of the site where we believe it is necessary.

15. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any liability that cannot be excluded under law.

Subject to that, and reflecting our role as an introducer only:

• we are not liable for the acts, omissions, conduct, teaching, vehicles, insurance status or professional status of any instructor, or for the acts or omissions of any learner;
• we are not liable for anything arising out of or in connection with driving lessons or the learner-instructor relationship, including cancellations, no-shows, deposits, lesson payments, accidents, injuries, losses or disputes;
• we are not liable for lesson outcomes, driving-test results, learner progress or personal compatibility;
• we are not liable for losses caused by inaccurate information supplied by a learner or an instructor, or by events outside our reasonable control;
• we are not liable for business losses, loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or indirect or consequential losses.

Where we are liable to you in connection with the platform, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid to My Instructor Finder in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, unless the law says otherwise.

16. Your responsibility for misuse

If you use the platform in breach of these terms, unlawfully, or to harm another user, you are responsible for the losses, claims and reasonable costs that your breach or misuse causes to My Instructor Finder, to the extent permitted by law. This section does not apply to a consumer's non-negligent, good-faith use of the service.

17. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may also have mandatory rights in the part of the UK where you live. Courts in England and Wales will have jurisdiction, subject to any consumer rights that give you access to local courts.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version presented with a checkout or instructor invoice applies to that transaction. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms for future use; an update does not remove refund rights already attached to an earlier purchase.

19. Contact and complaints

If you have a question, complaint, refund request, instructor listing request or policy query, contact us through the contact page. Please include your name, email, tracking link or booking reference, and a clear description of the issue. We aim to respond promptly and to resolve complaints fairly.
