Refund Policy
Clear refund rules for booking fees and Spread The Cost packages.

Plain-English promise
If we take a booking fee and the agreed instructor start cannot go ahead because of instructor availability, the booking fee is refunded. Spread The Cost package refunds are assessed fairly based on what has happened, what has been delivered, what has already been paid out, and what cancellation terms were agreed.
1. Scope of this policy
This policy applies to payments made to My Instructor Finder, including booking fees and managed Spread The Cost packages. It does not control lesson payments made directly by a learner to an instructor outside My Instructor Finder.
2. Booking fee refunds
A booking fee is normally charged after an instructor has confirmed availability and lesson terms. It covers My Instructor Finder securing and coordinating the handover.
The booking fee is refundable where:
- the instructor cannot start on the agreed date or agreed start window;
- the instructor withdraws before the first lesson;
- the confirmed details were materially wrong;
- we cannot complete the handover through no fault of the learner;
- we are required to refund under applicable law.
The booking fee may be retained where we have secured the agreed handover, released the details, and the instructor remains available on the agreed terms.
3. Learner change of mind
If a learner changes their mind after My Instructor Finder has secured and started the handover, the booking fee will usually not be refunded unless the refund protection above applies or the law requires a refund.
4. Spread The Cost package refunds
Spread The Cost refunds are reviewed case by case. We consider:
- lessons already delivered or made available;
- instructor cancellation terms and reasonable instructor losses;
- My Instructor Finder coordination, payment handling and support already performed;
- whether funds have already been paid or scheduled to be paid to the instructor;
- Stripe, Klarna or payment provider rules and limitations;
- whether the learner told My Instructor Finder in time before cancelling or changing the booking.
5. Payout timing and learner notice
For managed packages, instructor payout timing is recorded for that booking. The payout may be upfront, on the morning of the first lesson, after first lesson confirmation, staged weekly, or lesson-by-lesson.
If you need to cancel or change a Spread The Cost package, you must tell My Instructor Finder before any relevant payout deadline. If you do not tell us in time and we pay the instructor according to the agreed payout schedule, we may not be able to recover those funds and we are not responsible for avoidable losses except where law requires otherwise.
6. Deductions from refunds
Where a partial refund applies, reasonable deductions may be made for lessons delivered, instructor cancellation charges, My Instructor Finder work already performed, payment processing limitations, and a reasonable cancellation or administration charge. Any cancellation or administration charge will be assessed fairly and capped at up to 25% of the quoted package where appropriate and lawful.
7. Refund method and timing
Approved refunds are normally returned to the original payment method through Stripe. Refund timing depends on Stripe, Klarna, your bank, card issuer or payment provider. We cannot guarantee the exact date funds appear in your account after a refund is issued.
8. Failed finance or declined payment
If a payment method, finance provider or Klarna does not approve a transaction, no package is confirmed through that payment method. You may be offered another available payment option where appropriate.
9. Disputes and chargebacks
Please contact us first if something has gone wrong. If a payment dispute or chargeback is opened, we may provide the payment provider with evidence including accepted policy versions, messages, instructor confirmation, handover records, payout records and support history.
10. How to request a refund
Use the contact page and include your name, email, tracking link or booking reference, the instructor name, and what happened. We may ask for additional information before deciding the refund outcome.
