Tony

Tony is the founder and lead instructor of Chester le Street Driver Training. He has a disciplined but friendly style and teaches learners across Chester le Street and North Durham. Before becoming a driving instructor, Tony served as a Royal Navy radio operator on ships including HMS Invincible. He then worked with Durham and Northumbria Police, followed by ten years in customer services with Newcastle City Council. After qualifying as a driving instructor, he first worked with a Pass and Go franchise, then set up his own local school so he could give pupils a more personal and consistent experience. Tony is Grade A accredited by the DVSA and his pupils rate him highly, with an excellent pass record and regular five star reviews. He is great with complete beginners and focuses on building confidence, road safety and good local route knowledge. He offers weekly lessons, block booking discounts and structured courses. Pupils say he is calm, safety focused and flexible, and he helps nervous learners make steady progress while preparing thoroughly for the practical test.
