About Jon
Jon Kenny is a fully qualified Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) and the founder of Formula Jon Driving School, which he set up in 2019. He has been an ADI since January 2018, so you get over five years of proper driver training experience across Sutton, Carshalton and Wallington.
Jon is an ex-Police Blue Light Response Driver and a member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM). This means he really knows his stuff on road safety, advanced observation and spotting hazards early, and he brings all of that into his lessons.
He is professional but easy-going and patient. Lessons are structured and focused on you, with the aim of building solid skills and confidence, not just cramming for the test. Jon is especially good with nervous or anxious learners. He explains things clearly, keeps a calm atmosphere and uses progressive lesson plans backed up by handy digital tools like Theory Test Pro and My Drive Time.
Jon offers weekly lessons and block bookings and plays a big part in the school's high first-time pass rate. He also provides motorway lessons, refresher sessions and test-day tuition so you feel ready for real-world driving, not only the test itself.

From the very first lesson, he made me feel at ease behind the wheel, even when I was nervous. His explanations were always clear, and he had this way of breaking things down so they didn't feel overwhelming. What really helped me was his patience and he never made me feel rushed or stressed even when I was struggling with certain manoeuvres.
