Jan

Jan has been teaching people to drive for over 40 years. He first trained as an instructor in the RAF, working with both cars and heavy vehicles. He set up Jan's Driving School in Penrith in 1998 and since then has become well known locally for calm, clear lessons that focus on safe driving for life. Jan is a DVSA Grade A instructor. He is friendly, professional and patient, and helps learners feel relaxed and confident behind the wheel. He offers Pass Plus, taxi tuition, confidence-building lessons and a 'drive safer for longer' scheme for mature drivers. He is also involved in road safety work in the community. Jan sits on the Cumbria 'CRASH' committee (Casualty Reduction And Safer Highways), part of the Cumbria Road Safety Partnership. He works with local authorities and emergency services to help cut casualties and make local roads safer. His student-focused approach means drivers of all ages and abilities get the support they need to reach their goals.
