Davie Paton

Davie Paton is a fully qualified Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) with years of real road experience behind him. He retired from the Police in 2017 after serving communities across North East Scotland, often dealing with the aftermath of poor driving. Now he uses that experience to help people become safe, confident drivers. His last standards check was passed in July 2018 and he proudly displays the green badge in his car, proving he meets the high standards required every four years. He lives just outside New Deer with his wife and a menagerie of animals. His calm, friendly approach comes from really knowing the local Buchan area and wanting lessons to feel relaxed, straightforward and enjoyable. Davie is patient and works at each student's pace, so he is great with nervous learners. He offers standard lessons in 1, 1.5 or 2 hour slots, plus refresher lessons for full licence holders and semi intensive courses that can be shaped around your circumstances. He is available seven days a week, including evenings and weekends, so it is easy to fit lessons around work, school or family. As well as practical driving, Davie offers help with the Highway Code and theory test preparation. He does not just aim for a test pass. He wants his learners to have the skills and awareness to stay safe for life, using his police background to build strong, sensible driving habits from day one.
