Dorset Council’s order, which came into operation on 19 April 2024, lists 30mph sections of the A352 around Horsecastles Lane, Ottery Lane and Westbury, and separately identifies a 40mph section on New Road and the B3145. Use this as a reminder to look for signs at transitions and adjust smoothly. Current road signs take priority. Nearby Oborne and North Wootton are useful pickup references; we confirm the actual address with the instructor.

Your instructor can introduce more complex decisions as your confidence grows. The DVSA does not publish test routes, so prepare for varied driving rather than memorising a particular road.

What the search fee covers

Test-centre distances are approximate straight-line estimates from the Sherborne area, not road distances from your pickup. Pass rates cover April 2025 to March 2026; booking-time and 10% appointment-availability measures are August 2026 snapshots, not lesson waits or live slots. The DVSA does not publish test routes.
