Stockport Council’s July 2026 update describes crossings at Romiley Precinct, near Birch Avenue and Romiley Park, and on Stockport Road near Green Lane. It also says Green Lane at the canal bridge and Hurstheads Lane are closed to motor vehicles. Follow the signs and do not enter a road closed to you. Work on moving off safely, mirror checks before turning, judging gaps at junctions and following signs between familiar places. If a closure changes the planned route, stay calm and make a safe alternative plan rather than turning suddenly. The council describes a walking and cycling connection towards Bredbury Green, which is useful context for awareness around people using those routes. The DVSA does not publish test routes.
