Use the High Street and roundabout as references
Surrey’s 2019 route schedule identifies the High Street between Esher Green and Church Street/Claremont Lane. It also names Portsmouth Road, the A307, and Scilly Isles Roundabout at the A307/A309 junction. These references can help you describe a familiar destination and discuss when you are ready to practise a larger junction.
Start with roads that suit your experience, then build towards more involved decisions as your control and observation develop. Your instructor can work on reading signs early, choosing a lane and keeping a safe speed without relying on a memorised route.

We pair you with one of our vetted instructors. The instructor confirms actual pickup coverage, your transmission and other preferences, suitable dates and times, and lesson price directly. We negotiate the best available rate for your request. You see the offer before acceptance and it is held for at least 24 hours.
The MIF Search Fee is paid upfront: £9.99 for up to 10 requested hours or £19.99 for 11 or more hours, with optional Priority at £25. It is retained only if you accept. The full Search Fee including Priority is refunded if no suitable local offer is found by the agreed search deadline, if you decline any offer, or if the final held offer expires without acceptance. Declining closes the entire search. Lesson payments go directly to the instructor on each lesson day, with no advance lesson payment or deposit.
