High Street, Head Street, North Hill, East Hill and Queen Street are named in Colchester City Council’s city-centre information. Priory Walk is a pedestrian route linking the centre with Sainsbury’s. These landmarks can help you orient yourself, while road signs and access controls should guide any driving decision.
Ask your instructor to help you read signs early, notice pedestrians around the centre and choose a safe position at junctions. If you usually travel from Lexden, Mile End or Old Heath, include that when arranging the pickup. Lessons can build from familiar neighbourhood roads towards more involved city driving as your confidence grows.
Review your offer and payment terms
We pair you with one vetted instructor and confirm actual pickup coverage, your preferred transmission and other needs, suitable dates and times, and lesson price directly. We negotiate the best available rate for your request. You see the offer before accepting, and it is held for at least 24 hours.
The MIF Search Fee is paid upfront at £9.99 for up to 10 requested hours or £19.99 for 11 hours or more, with optional Priority at £25. It is retained only if you accept. We refund the full Search Fee including Priority if no suitable local offer is found by the agreed search deadline, if you decline an offer, or if the final held offer expires without acceptance. Declining closes the entire search. Lesson payments go directly to your instructor on each lesson day, with no advance lesson payment or deposit.
