Finding your instructor locally
Driving lessons in Cockenzie and Port Seton, with pickup agreed
Local information checked 21 October 2026
We help learners in Cockenzie and Port Seton find one of our vetted instructors and arrange a pickup that fits. Tell us if Seton, Preston, Meadowmill or another nearby place is convenient. Your instructor confirms actual coverage, suitable lesson times and price before you decide.
Choose where to meet
Give us a precise pickup, your manual or automatic preference, any other lesson needs and the dates and times you can learn. We check actual coverage with one instructor directly, including whether the requested starting point suits the schedule.
Practise on the new link and coastal roads
Willie Innes Way has opened through the former Cockenzie Power Station site, linking the Alder Road junction on the B6371 approach with B1348 Edinburgh Road. East Lothian Council says it is intended to ease pressure on local roads and includes a set-back lane for walking and cycling. These road names offer useful orientation as you plan local journeys.
You can ask your instructor to practise reading signs and planning ahead as you move between the villages and wider approaches. If your daily journeys include Prestonpans or Blindwells, tell us when arranging your pickup. Lessons can start on familiar streets and progress towards busier routes when your instructor considers you ready.
The offer and payments
We pair you with one of our vetted instructors and confirm actual pickup coverage, transmission and other preferences, dates and times, and lesson price directly. We negotiate the best available rate for your request. You see the offer before accepting it, and it is held for at least 24 hours.
The MIF Search Fee is paid upfront at £9.99 for up to 10 requested hours or £19.99 for 11 or more. Optional Priority costs £25. The fee is kept only if you accept. The full Search Fee including Priority is refunded if no suitable local offer is found by the agreed search deadline, if you decline an offer, or if the final held offer expires without acceptance. Declining closes the entire search. Lesson payments are made directly to your instructor on each lesson day, with no advance lesson payment or deposit.
