Put one worry into words
Try to name the part that feels hardest: starting the car, busy traffic, stalling, being watched or not knowing what comes next. You do not need to explain everything at once. A short note can help the instructor understand what you would like to practise and what you want explained clearly.
Agree how to make a lesson manageable
Before you start, ask what the first task will be and how you can pause to ask a question. You might agree to practise one skill at a time, repeat an instruction or take a moment to talk through a decision. After the lesson, note one thing that went well and one point you want to revisit. The instructor can help agree a suitable focus for the next session.

Tell us which practical details matter
Include your pickup, transmission preference, suitable dates and times, and any practical request that could make lessons easier to manage. We check those details with one of our vetted instructors and confirm the lesson price directly; we negotiate the best available rate for your request. The offer names the instructor and terms and is held for at least 24 hours so you can consider it.
Understand the fee and lesson payments
The MyInstructorFinder search fee is paid upfront: £9.99 for up to 10 requested hours or £19.99 for 11 or more, plus optional £25 Priority. We keep it only if you accept an offer. If no suitable offer is found by the agreed deadline or the final held offer expires unaccepted, we refund the full fee including Priority. Declining any offer closes the entire search and brings the same full refund. Pay lesson fees directly to your instructor on the day of each lesson; no advance lesson payment or deposit is required through this service.
