Rotherham Council’s supplementary planning map labels the River Don, A630 Centenary Way, Rotherham Central, the bus station and streets including Main Street, Bridgegate, Westgate and Corporation Street. These can help you describe a journey or a pickup near Thorn Hill, Clifton or Eastwood. The map is a planning reference, not a current traffic guide, so follow signs and road markings in front of you. We confirm your exact pickup address with the instructor.
Practise following directions safely
Ask your instructor to plan a suitable route towards a familiar destination, then try a different one as your confidence grows. Work on reading signs early, checking before changing position and recovering calmly if you miss a turn. The DVSA does not publish test routes; practise responding safely to directions and varied road conditions rather than expecting a set route through Rotherham.
