Finding your instructor locally
Driving lessons in Gatley with a local instructor
Local information checked 21 October 2026
We help you find one of our vetted instructors for driving lessons in Gatley. Tell us where a pickup would work, whether you prefer manual or automatic tuition, your available dates and times, and the lesson budget you have set. We confirm pickup coverage and lesson price directly with the instructor before you decide.
Make the pickup and practice area clear
You might be near Sharston, East Didsbury, Cheadle or Wythenshawe. Share the actual place that suits you and we will check whether the instructor can collect there. We also confirm your preferred transmission and schedule so the offer reflects what you can really use.
A September 2024 Stockport Council update recorded crossing and layout changes on Gatley Road and at the Broadway/Wilmslow Road junction. These are useful landmarks to mention if you want to practise scanning at junctions and watching for people crossing; your instructor will follow the signs in place.
Review the offer before accepting
We contact suitable members of our vetted instructor network and negotiate the best available rate for your requested lesson hours. The offer sets out confirmed pickup coverage, transmission, dates, times and lesson price. You see it first and it is held for at least 24 hours.
The search fee is paid upfront: £9.99 for up to 10 requested hours or £19.99 for 11 hours or more, with optional Priority for £25. We retain it only if you accept an offer. If no suitable local offer is found by the agreed search deadline, the full fee including Priority is refunded. You also get a full refund if you decline an offer, which closes the whole search, or if your final held offer expires without acceptance. The full refund includes Priority in each case.
Pay for tuition on lesson days
For an offer arranged through this service, lesson payments go directly to the instructor on the day of each lesson. There is no advance lesson payment or deposit. The search fee is separate from tuition.
The nearest-centre cards show straight-line distances from Gatley’s area reference point, not travel distances from your pickup. DVSA does not publish test routes. Build practical judgement in varied settings, including observation, junction decisions and manoeuvres, instead of trying to learn a fixed circuit.

Gatley Road and the Broadway/Wilmslow Road junction details follow Stockport Council’s September 2024 project update, which provides dated context rather than live traffic information. Nearby place names are drawn from Ordnance Survey; DVSA test-centre figures are for the stated periods, with approximate straight-line distances.
