Finding your instructor locally
Find driving lessons in Filton around your routine
Local information checked 21 October 2026
For driving lessons in Filton, start by telling us where you need to be collected and when you are free. We pair you with one of our vetted instructors, then confirm actual pickup coverage, manual or automatic preference, dates, times and lesson price directly with the instructor before you see an offer.
A pickup point that works in Filton
You may want to start close to Filton Town Centre, Newleaze, Northville or Stoke Gifford. South Gloucestershire Council describes shops, a library and leisure facilities around the centre, while noting that major roads affect some walking links between homes and nearby destinations. That local layout makes it useful to tell us the exact place you want to meet, so the instructor can confirm whether it is covered.
The A38, Filton Avenue and A4174 Avon Ring Road are named in the Council’s Filton and Brentry transport consultation. You can discuss which kinds of road you want to feel more confident on, but no fixed practice route is promised. Your instructor will decide what is appropriate for your experience and the conditions at the time.
Know the terms before you choose
We contact suitable people in our vetted instructor network and negotiate the best available rate for the hours you requested. The offer sets out confirmed pickup coverage, transmission, available dates and times, and lesson price. You see it before accepting, and it is held for at least 24 hours.
You pay the search fee upfront: £9.99 for up to 10 requested hours or £19.99 for 11 hours or more; optional Priority adds £25. The fee is retained only if you accept an offer. If no suitable local offer is available by the agreed search deadline, the full fee including Priority is refunded. You also receive a full refund if you decline an offer, which closes the entire search, or if your final held offer expires without acceptance. The full refund includes Priority in each case.
Pay lesson costs on each lesson day
Lesson payments for offers through our service go straight to the instructor on the day of each lesson. You do not pay lesson costs in advance and no deposit is required. This is separate from the upfront search fee.
The test-centre cards show straight-line distances from Filton’s area reference point, not journey distances from your pickup. DVSA does not publish car-test routes. A useful plan builds general confidence with observation, decisions and manoeuvres across a variety of roads rather than memorising a route.
