Use the historic centre for navigation practice

Wiltshire Council’s community history describes how the site of the former castle shaped Devizes’ street pattern, with the Market Place and New Park Street among the named parts of the town. These landmarks give a local focus for following directions and deciding where to turn. Agree any town-centre destination with your instructor and use current signs to guide the journey.

As you build confidence, practise planning a turn early, checking your position and finding a safe place to stop. Start with a familiar destination and add less familiar streets when you are ready. The useful skill is making calm decisions as the route unfolds, not memorising a sequence of roads.

We negotiate the best available rate for your request. You see the offer before acceptance and it is held for at least 24 hours.

The MIF Search Fee is paid upfront at £9.99 for up to 10 requested hours or £19.99 for 11 or more, with optional Priority at £25. We retain it only on acceptance. We refund the full Search Fee including Priority if no suitable local offer is found by the agreed search deadline, if you decline any offer, or if the final held offer expires without acceptance. Declining closes the entire search. Lesson charges go directly to the instructor on each lesson day, with no advance lesson payment or deposit.
