Build confidence on the hill
Caterham Valley and Caterham on the Hill are separate centres divided by a steep hill. The Valley developed as a retail focus after the railway arrived, while the Hill is the older settlement. This gives lessons a clear local focus: smooth hill starts, choosing a suitable gear, controlling speed on a descent and keeping a good view as the road rises or falls.
Ask your instructor to choose when to practise the gradient. You might begin with basic control on easier roads, then work up to a drive between the two centres when you are ready. If your routine starts near Whyteleafe, Woldingham or Old Coulsdon, mention it so we can confirm pickup coverage and a workable time.
Your offer before the first lesson
We pair you with one of our vetted instructors and confirm actual pickup coverage, transmission and other preferences, suitable dates and times, and lesson price directly. We negotiate the best available rate for your request. You see the offer before accepting it, and it is held for at least 24 hours.
You pay the MIF Search Fee upfront: £9.99 for up to 10 requested hours or £19.99 for 11 hours or more. Optional Priority costs £25. The fee is retained only if you accept. We refund the full Search Fee including Priority if no suitable local offer is found by the agreed search deadline, if you decline an offer, or if the final held offer expires without acceptance. Declining closes the entire search. Lesson payments go directly to the instructor on each lesson day, with no advance lesson payment or deposit.
