South Lanarkshire Council restricts general vehicle access on signed sections of High Street and Hamilton Street from 8am to 6pm every day. The relevant stretches are one way, and entry signs mark where the restriction begins. Do not assume all of either street is restricted; follow the signs and agree a suitable pickup outside any area you cannot enter.
If you are learning around Roadmeetings, Wildmanbridge or Yieldshields, mention that as an alternative start. Lessons can work on sign-reading, one-way systems, observation and choosing a position before a turn. Your instructor can select a suitable route and introduce the town-centre layout when it fits your experience and the access rules.
Know the fee and lesson payment arrangement
We pair you with one vetted instructor and confirm actual pickup coverage, preferred transmission and other needs, dates and times, and lesson price directly. We negotiate the best available rate for your request. You see the offer before accepting it and it is held for at least 24 hours.
The MIF Search Fee is paid upfront at £9.99 for up to 10 requested hours or £19.99 for 11 or more. Optional Priority is £25. The fee is retained only if you accept. The full Search Fee including Priority is refunded if no suitable local offer is found by the agreed search deadline, if you decline an offer, or if the final held offer expires without acceptance. Declining closes the entire search. Lesson charges are paid directly to the instructor on each lesson day, with no advance lesson payment or deposit.
